Southern Equestrian Show
Run by the: SA Pinto Association
4th October 2009, Strathalbyn SA
The weather could not have been
more perfect for the Southern
Equestrian Show which was run by
the SA Pinto Association at
Strathalbyn, South Australia, on
the 4th October 2009.

The show was one of the best
organised shows and a huge pat
on the back must go to the SA
Pinto Association for all their hard
work and efforts which paid off in
what was a brilliant day out for all
involved.

The Cleveland Bays were certainly
a breed to watch on the day!
Nikki Chadburn had Pine Country Reznor
turned out beautifully (above, second from
left, and left) and was one step behind
Lyndsworth all day in both the CB and WB
rings.

Billara Beersheba and Craig Coburn did
well in the CB and the WB rings - with Bill
being awarded first place in the Led
Warmblood Stallion class.

The Clevelands certainly proved they are
competitive against the other Warmblood
breeds.  This is a great follow on from
Sandgate Supernovas success at the
Adelaide Royal in September.
While they may have been relatively few in numbers, they were certainly noticed - and for all the right reasons!
Kath Hurrell and Lyndsworth came away from the day with many wins in the Cleveland Bay and the Warmblood Rings, and were awarded Champion
Cleveland Bay, and then Supreme Cleveland Bay Exhibit for the day.   This was a much deserved title and as usual - Lyndsworth was turned out impeccably!
CM Killarnie Ceilidh was awarded Reserve Champion Cleveland Bay, and was shown by Brian Riddle who met her for the first time a few minutes before their
first class.  She performed beautifully for him throughout the day in both the Cleveland Bay and Warmblood rings doing very well in both.
The judge in the Cleveland Bay ring was
Steven Brewster - a well known
gentleman in South Australia - and Kath
was thrilled when Steven made comment
about Lyndsworth being 'Classic'.  He
was really quite taken with him.

There was much laughter from the
Cleveland Bay contingent throughout the
day and everyone really enjoyed
themselves.

This was Brians first experience showing
a Cleveland Bay - he has just bought
himself a youngster who is not yet with
him, and not ready to come out to a
show, so it was great for him, wife Tanya,
and son Adrian to meet some more CB
owners.

Kerry Jervis was there to support the
CBs as well as her daughter who was
showing in another ring, and Kerry had
organised a wonderful basket to raffle off
and help the SA members sponsor some
more classes at shows.
We hope you have enjoyed some of the photographs from the day!
Lyndsworth and Pine Country Reznor were desperate for a scratch with each other, and
managed to do so without damaging their plaits!
