Pinjarra All Breed Show

17th October 2009, Pinjarra, WA
Cleveland Bay Classes

Filly 3 and under: Won by Ferndale Springs Empress
,
Empress was lead by Bella (Bec) Bates it was Bella's first show
and she did a wonderful job to keep up with the horse.

2nd Ferndale Springs Topsy was lead by Paul-Lee Boaden;
this was Topsy's first outing.  Paula did a great job to trot her
out matching the more experienced fillies.

3rd Ferndale Springs Mystelle was lead by Teja Ashton
Bolton.  Teja only met us and the horses the day before the
show. She was so excited because she hadn't anything to do
with horses since coming to Australia six months ago,
Considering Teja and Mystelle had only just met they performed
very well, Mystelle will definitely be one to watch in the future.

4th Ferndale Springs Heidi is owned and lead by Lucy
Murray, Lucy and Heidi both looked very smart Lucy dressed in
a Black skirt and white shirt matching nicely with her third place
ribbon.

Mare Class: was won by Impeccable Emily with a Stunning
Emily Murray leading her. I don't think I have ever seen the
Emily's look so fantastic. Emily was brought in from the pregnant
mare paddock yesterday, given a bath, and plaited up. Had a
bridle fitting the morning of the show and off she went.
Impeccable Emily is due to foal with another purebred in early
December.

Champion mare Impeccable Emily,
Reserve Champion Ferndale Springs Empress.

Gelding 3 and under:  Won by Ferndale Springs Topthat

with Paula leading him the first time and Brenda leading for the
Champion class.

Gelding over 3:  Won by Impeccable Lad led by his owner
Rachael Badger
. Rachael did a great job presenting Impeccable
Lad he is a cool character, not quite as lonely for Rachael as
the Royal was, where she was the only competitor in her class.

2nd Overflow Anzac was lead by his owner Casey Rose, He
behaved beautifully and was a credit to the work Casey has put
into him.

Champion Gelding:  Impeccable Lad, Reserve Champion
Overflow Anzac

Colt 3 and under : won by Ferndale Springs Solo
lead by
Paula-Lee Boaden, Solo has beautiful movement and when he
settled into the routine showed some glimpses of what we can
expect in the future from him.

Stallion: won by Tregoyd Topper and lead by Brenda
Boaden. As always Topper knows when he is on display and
greets the audience with a smile. You can hear the whispers on
the sidelines in awe of his presence.  His ring manners are great
however he was a little unsettled in the line up and I had to
convince him standing still was a good idea.

Champion Stallion or Colt: Tregoyd Topper, Reserve
Champion Ferdale Springs Solo

Supreme Champion:  Tregoyd Topper.

It took a lot of work to prepare so many horses for a show and
having four babies to show was a challenge.  Getting the horses
to the show was also interesting with Emily needing two bays
because of her size and Topper needing two in the float. Five
horses went on Bill Tyler's horse transport, two horses went in
Lynne Murray's triple float and one went with Anzac and Casey
Rose in her triple float as Anzac also needs two bays.

Five of the horses had never left our place or been on a float
before. They all loaded without any fuss and travelled
beautifully. All tied up at the show without any getting loose. It
was a drama free show and we were home by lunch time. That
was a bonus as the weather warmed up to 35 degrees, although
Im sure it was hotter, more like 37 I hear.

The horses were glad to be home in the paddock, I don't think
they did enough work as they ran and bucked when we let them
go.

HELPERS:  A huge thank you to the following people.

Lynne Murray helps everyday she can with whatever she is able
to do. Lynne is always there for me.

Emily Murray for leading Impeccable Emily.

Lucy Murray for being there and supporting, you did well with
Heidi.

Carol McIlroy was our photographer although not an equine
photographer she did a fantastic job and we have some lovely
photos to show for her efforts.

Tina Whiteland came to Ferndale Springs for work experience
on Monday the twelth of October. She had not had any contact
with horses before this day. Tina learnt to groom, catch, put a
headstall on, lead a horse, clean yards, use the ride on mower,
most important of all she cleaned and oiled the bridles saving
me hours of time.

Bella Bates comes to ride and groom a couple of times a week
whenever she is able too. Bella has a baby boy so has limited
time on her hands, she is a pleasure to have around and is
most considerate, the horses love her.

Bill Tyler did all the horses feet before the show and transported
the horse as he always does with care and consideration for the
young ones.

Casey Rose for leading the Topper fan club and being a great
support with everything.

Paula-Lee Boaden helps prepare the young horses helping
teach them to lead and have suitable manners. On the day of
the show Paula and I juggle the leading and other jobs as they
pop up.

Teja Ashton Bolton was a great help with the plaiting of the
horses and leading FS Mystelle in her class.

Rohan Pownall is Paula's partner and is a great support he was
thrown in the deep end being given one of the less handled
colts to lead to the ring, he hadn't led a horse before, so quick
instructions were in order.

Everyone of us played a part in a very successful day in terms
of the promotion of both the Purebred Cleveland Bay and
Cleveland Bay Sporthorses.

A big thankyou and pray you will all be there next time.
