Breed O Rama - 13th December 2009
Mt Crawford Dressage Grounds, South Australia
Sunday the 13th of December was
a beautiful day weather wise - it
could have been a couple of
degrees cooler, but it wasnt bad
considering the temperatures we
have been having of late!
The flies were out in force - if you
see any specks in the photos -
chances are they are flies!!!
We had a fantastic turnout of
Cleveland Bay Sporthorses and SA
CBHSA Members!!!
There were SIX CBSH's at the show
which was fantastic to see!
Bill Henderson was called upon to judge the
Andalusian and the Cleveland Bay Ring - his
efforts were very much appreciated.
Teresa Taylor hit the showring herself once
again - she has her enthusiasm back after
having lost it for quite some time with one thing
and another and is raring to go once more.   She
was not disappointed - she brought Ballantyne
Auburn (the mare in the very top two photos)
and Ballantyne Colours (the gelding with the
blaze) along to the show and went home with two
Champions with Auburn, and a couple of
placings with Bob (Colours).
A first timer in the Cleveland Bay ring
was Nicky Ferris and her lovely gelding
Iramoo Valentine.  He is a 7 yr old
grandson of Gillshaw Caliph and is also
Part Arabian.
Nicky is pictured above leading her boy
out for the judge.
At right, Nikki Chadburn is holding her
lovely Pine Country Reznor who is
wearing the first place ribbon in his class.
Below is the remainder of the lineup.
Kath Hurrell and her gorgeous boy Lyndsworth also
competed, with Nikki Chadburn running him out for
her as the ground was pretty slippery under foot
with the grass and there were lumps and bumps in
the ground.
Craig & Michelle Coburn took along their stallion,
Billara Beersheba - having travelled over from the
Eyre Peninsula again for the show.

At right you can see Bill Henderson sashing
Ballantyne Auburn with her Champion ribbon - she
went on to get herself the Supreme Led Cleveland
Bay or Cleveland Bay Sporthorse.

Below is Ballantyne Auburn,

Below Centre is her full brother (younger),
Ballantyne Colours - both are out of Ballantyne
Gracie and by the TB, Flamingo Cloud.

dBelow Right: Nikki Chadburn and Lyndsworth.
It was pointed out through the day that
all 6 horses that were present in the
CB ring at Breed O Rama went back to
Gillshaw Caliph.

Lyndsworth is by Gillshaw Caliph.

Pine Country Reznor is by Sandgate
Reznor who was by Gillshaw Caliph.

Iramoo Valentine is out of a mare by
Gillshaw Caliph.

Billara Beersheba is out of Billara
Killari who is by Gillshaw Caliph.

Ballantyne Auburn and Ballantyne
Colours are out of Ballantyne Gracie,
who was by Clareborough Bounty - a
purebred who was of course by
Gillshaw Caliph.
At left and below is Nicky Ferris
on Iramoo Valentine in the
Ridden CB or CBSH classes.

Right and Above Right is Nikki
Chadburn on Pine Country
Reznor.

Below Right: Nikki Chadburn on
Kath Hurrell's boy Lyndsworth
showing a great hand gallop.

Below: Kerry Jervis.
The SA CB Promotional Group has another nice amount in
the kitty thanks to Kerry Jervis - Kerry organised a
wonderful raffle once again and sold a lot of tickets at $2
each, all of which will go back into promoting the CB in
South Australia and topping up sponsorship at shows!

Breed O Rama was postponed from earlier in the year - and
it was a great finish to 2009 for the Cleveland Bays!

Roll on 2010 and the fantastic program that is being
organised for CB owners and enthusiasts!
