Dilutes Australia 2011 Youngstock Show
August 7th 2011 at Roseworthy Agricultural College, South Australia
On the 7th of August, the Dilutes Australia 2011 Youngstock Show was held at Roseworthy Ag College, and it
was a thrill to see so many youngsters turning out in all the rings that were catered for.

There were 5 entrants in the Cleveland Bay ring, ranging from ‘yearlings’ to 3 yr olds:

Arreton Kamseen – the real baby of the show.   At just 8 weeks old, Kamseen is the first Cleveland Bay
Sporthorse foal for Arreton Arabians (Jess & John Preece & Caroline Payne) – he is a Partbred Arabian out of a
lovely mare, Bevolin Woodsmoke.   Kam was the youngest foal at the show by far, and obviously still on his mum
who happily put up with all the fuss over herself and her colt!

Allen Park Max Factor – at not quite 4 ½ months old, a little different being a buckskin, and already weaned
due to her mum not coping feeding her – she was quite the leech apparently when it came to drinking her mother
dry – and going great guns – she had young Ashlee McEvoy (who works for Michelle Williams at CM
Sporthorses/Eyre Peninsula Animal Services) leading her in her classes – and behaved beautifully throughout
the day in the ring.

Both of these youngsters are technically ‘yearlings’ and were shown in that age group.

CM Desert Dreams – who will be 2 yrs old in November and obviously shown as a ‘2 yr old’, was beautifully
turned out by owner Paige Lovell and her team of helpers (aka: Mum, Kathy, and boyfriend, Casey!) and did
Paige proud.  He really is becoming an old hand at this showing caper!

CM Independant Miss – Indy was 2 on the Friday before the show – so that was well timed for her to be in her
2 yr old classes!   Lyndsworth Lodge did an impeccable job of turning her out and showing her as per usual.
There is nothing that Nikki Chadburn & Kath Hurrell cant do when it comes to showing it seems!   The ladies are
brilliant at their ‘jobs’ with the horses and it really pays off for them.

CM Sorta Sassy – the 3 yr old of the day – officially three in September, she is still not overly tall thanks to her
Welsh/Arabian dam being rather small, but looks fabulous with Katye Lemay-Robbins at the end of her lead!
Katye did a fabulous job of turning her out and if anyone wants tail plaiting lessons – we suggest you go see
Katye!!    Obviously with the dressage horses she normally rides, Katye has had lots of practice!

It was a thrill to see 5 lovely youngsters so beautifully turned out with their equally well turned out handlers in the
ring.   Even more of a thrill for the stallion owner, Shell Williams from CM Sporthorses, and her former husband,
Craig Coburn,– as ALL 5 of the youngsters were by Billara Beersheba!

The youngsters were also shown in the SA Equine Forum ring, and did brilliantly against some stiff competition!

Indy narrowly missed the Supreme of the Day – with an absolutely gorgeous 3 yr old filly just taking the crown
over her.
